In recognition of Oral Cancer Awareness and National Facial Protection month, Sun Family Dental will help raise awareness in our local community in Alpharetta, Milton and Cumming about these 2 important oral health issues.

According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, about 48,250 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer this year, and of those, about 9,575 will die. That’s at least 1 death per hour every day. The problem is much worse worldwide. Survival rates are much higher if a diagnosis is amde in the early stages. In addition to traditional risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol, the HPV16 virus may also play a role in causing oral cancer in younger people.  – See more at: Oral Cancer Facts
